Linguini with Clam sauce

I love linguini with Clam sauce..both versions..white and red sauce.... and with lots of shredded parmesan over it...I know I know...you Italian food purists out there... no fish and cheese together... my thoughts on this are add it if you want to ...skip it if you don't... :)  To make this red clam sauce just add a 1/2 cup of prepared marinara/spaghetti sauce to the finished sauce just heating thoroughly.  What could be easier than a 10 minute dinner... between sauce & pasta...add some bagged salad greens with dressing on the side and a 10 minute supper hits the spot...use what pasta you have on hand spaghetti, linguini whatever it all works :) Enjoy

Linguini with Clam sauce

1/2 package Linguini, cooked according to package directions, & drained
1 can minced clams (do not drain)
1 T. olive oil
2 t garlic, minced
1 T. butter
1 t. lemon juice
1 T white wine
1/2 t worchester sauce
pinch of sugar
shredded parmesan cheese

seasonings of your choice, (I used dried parsley flakes, a pinch of Italian seasoning, a pinch of red pepper flakes, a sprinkle of salt and lots of freshly cracked black pepper)

While the pasta is cooking, in a saute pan add olive oil then minced garlic saute until fragrant about 1 minute.  Add remaining ingredients (except butter & parmesan cheese).  Stir well and simmer rapidly until sauce is reduced by about a 1/4.  Add butter and sugar.  Add to drained pasta stirring well.  Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. (If adding marinara to make red clam sauce add here and heat until all is hot). Serve with shredded parmesan.  Enjoy
